How to Inspect for Bed Bugs
Grab a Flashlight and Gloves
No one wants to find a bug on their bed because that bug may be crawling on you at night. We understand why you would not want to inspect your own furniture. We are happy to inspect your home for bed bugs.
You will need a flash light, gloves, and a strong back to inspect for bed bugs. Before any heavy lifting, remove the bed sheets. Shine your flashlight to carefully scan the edges of the bed. You are looking for bed bugs and signs of them. If you find bed bugs at this point, stop.
If you do not find any bed bugs or signs of them, lift the bed and stand it up. Shine your flashlight and closely inspect the bottom seams of the mattress. This is the most common place to find bed bugs.
If you do not see anything strange then move on to the box spring or bed frame. If you do not see any bed bugs or signs of them then lift the box spring and move the bed frame away from the wall.
Shine your flashlight along the bottom of the box spring and back of headboard. Pay careful attention to screw holes and wood joints.
